Michael McConnohie (the voice of D in Vampire Hunter D) is coming to Florida Anime Experience 2013!

Michael McConnohie’s career in anime actually began before the beginning, with the original Transformers (as Tracks and Cosmos). Later he would also appear in the dubbed version of Transformers: Robots in Disguise as Ironhide and Hotshot.

He was there during the Harmony Gold years of Robotech (Rolf Emerson) and Captain Harlock (Harlock), through the Streamline films Vampire Hunter D (as both D himself and his demon left hand) and Fist of the North Star (Shin), into such modern-day fare as The Big O (Schwarzwald), Paranoia Agent (Det. Ikari), Hare + Guu (Village Elder), MÄR (Babbo) and Disgaea (Captain Gordon, ). Michael can be heard in Bleach (as Kuroudo, Ryuken Ishida, Shawlong Qufang, and Barragan Luisenbarn), Code Geass (as the Emperor Charles zi Britannia), Fate/Stay Night (Berserker), Eureka Seven (Jurgens), and the Narrators for both Bo Bo-Bo Bo Bo-Bo-Bo and Ikki Tousen. He carries several roles in Animen – the first full length 3-D animation feature film produced in China. Michael is involved in several current anime series. (However the growing trend for Non-Disclosure Agreements prevents him from giving any details; gosh, what was it Shakepseare said about lawyers…?)

Games? He’s all over World of Warcraft — The Lich King, Uther the Lightbringer, Kel’ Thuzad, King Ymiron and many others in Wrath of the Lich King, Magister Rommath and others in the Cataclysm expanision. (And, yes, he was the voice of The Lich King in the Ozzy Osbourne WoW commercial.) Michael is The Voice of the Agency in Crackdown 1 and 2. The Crew Chief in Mod Nation. Gen. Keating in Ghost Recon 2 and Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter. Captain Gordon, Kenisky, and Maderas the Vampire in the Disgaea series. Margulis in the Xenosaga series. Astaroth in the Soulcalibur series. Seth in Street Fighter. Dr. Kaufman in Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. – And who could ever forget his heartwarming turn as that master of mucus in Boogerman: A Pick and Flick Adventure?

On the other side of the microphone, Michael wrote and directed the English-language dubs of both the Russian sci-fi hits Night Watch and Day Watch, as well as scripting the English version of Clint Eastwood’s Letters From Iwo Jima. He has written for many anime projects, including Transformers, Digimon, Chobits, Disgaea, Mars Daybreak, Scry-ed, Heat Guy J, and many, many others (including “ghostwriting” episodes for Bleach and Naruto).

On camera, he has been in projects ranging from The Gong Show to cult classic films like FROG-G-G! and Scream Bloody Murder as well as soap operas like Passions and General Hospital. He has appeared in the Star Trek fan series Odyssey and Helena Chronicles. In the science fiction web series Frontier Guard he portrays the fanged and eccentric alien Professor Walt Kellogg.

Michael doesn’t have much to do with voicework these days other than acting, writing and directing. In his spare time he draws mustaches on cats.

Florida Anime Experience is thrilled to have Micheal join us this year… and we can’t WAIT to talk to him about “Cosmos.”
